Match Trivia
The ground of the Rangers at Kinning Park was opened by these two clubs. There were a large number of spectators. The Rangers, having won the toss, elected to play was a slight wind in their favour. The Volunteers not having the services of a goalkeeper Lang occupied that position. The game was very evenly contested during the first half, but Lang was not equal to the occasion, losing a goal very easily, and a second when he was away out of his place altogether. When ends were changed he played as a forward; this strengthened the team considerably, and before time as called the Volunteers had taken two goals, thus the match ended in a draw. Towards the end of the game the Volunteers had the best of the play
