Match Trivia
Played at Ibrox Park last night before a good attendance. The game in the first half was very tame, neither team being able to settle down to a good passing game, although Wilkie and Campbell worked fairly well together. After about seven minutes play, from a pass by Campbell, Hamilton scored the first goal for the Rangers. Shortly after Wilkie added a second point, and McCreadie scored for the Linthouse. The Rangers aided by the wind, had the better of their opponents, and ere halftime Wilkie again scored, the result at halftime being – Rangers 3: Linthouse 1. The second half had not gone far, when it became evident that the home team had matters all their own way, and Hamilton added other two goals and Wilkie a couple, the result of good of good wing play by McPherson and Sharp, the latter of whom is a splendid cross-shot, and did well for a first game in such good company. Up till the end the Rangers held their antagonists well in check, and but for a steady play of Linthouse defence, the goals record would have been much greater. Result – Rangers 7: Linthouse 1.
