Match Trivia

The Kilmarnock journeyed to Kinning Park on Wednesday to open the ground of the Rangers, but the hour and the day were both against a full turn-out, and as a consequence they left with nine men. McCall (their champion custodian) turned up on the field, and with McAra of QP who kindly made out the team, played two thirty-fives; the result of which was a victory for the Rangers by 4 goals to 3. The Rugby boys appeared to be overmatched the first half; the Rangers scoring two goals right off, but they gradually warmed up to the occasion, and at the wind up had made all the leeway except one goal; and had time been prolonged it looked very like the result being reversed.
