Match Trivia
The committee of the Scottish Association having sustained their protest against the insufficient width of the ground in the first match, the Rangers again travelled to Arbroath on Saturday to play off their tie with the premier ‘fair port’ club in the fourth round for the Scottish Cup, and this time they returned home the victory by eight goals to one. The strangers scored their first point within five minutes from the start – the goal although protested against being sustained. Before the halftime whistle blew they had three goals to their credit against none. The ball however had scarcely been restarted when the Arbroath put it through. During the remainder of the period the play was of a fast and furious character and some brilliant individual passages were shown. The visitors however had the advantage and adding five other goals won by eight goals to one. The Rangers will thus meet the Renton in the sixth round.
