Match Trivia
The celebrated Scotch Club finished up its season by opposing the Arsenal Club upon their ground at Plumstead. The conditions were all favourable to the good display of the game, which was witnessed by about 6000 spectators. Playing against the wind the Rangers had all the best of the match for twelve minutes, at the end of which time Kerr scored from a pass by Barker. They slack and somewhat later and the Arsenal held their own, but failed to score. In the second half the home team improved, and Shaw equalised from a free kick near the Rangers goal. A second point was added by Graham, which evidently roused the Rangers from their apathy, for Barker quickly equalised, and McBain a few minutes later enabled them once more to head the score. Nothing further was added, and the Rangers won by 3 goals to 2.
