Match Trivia
The famous Glasgow team, who are at present touring in England, met the Aston Villa at Perry Bar last evening. There were about two thousand spectators present. The visitors played a strong eleven, but several second team men were included in the Villa team. They more than held their own with the visitors, however, and at half time were leading by two goals to one. The Villa goals were obtained by L Campbell and Hodgetts, and the Rangers by McBain, the extreme right-wing man. The Rangers had slightly the best of the play for the first quarter of an hour or so after half-time, but were unable to score owing to the good defensive play of the Villa. Then the forwards of the latter club took up the attacking, and succeeded in adding a third goal to their score. It was obtained by Dickson from a capital centre by Hare. They thus won a well-contested game by 3 goals to 1
