Played at Renton. Two minutes from the commencement, McKenzie and Peacock affected a capital run along the whole field and evading the Renton backs they scored the first point for their team. Spurred on by this early reverse Renton settled down in earnest and for twenty minutes had decidedly the best of it, but the back division of the Rangers and Chalmers played a splendid defence. Halftime arrived, however without any change. In the second half the Rangers commenced with a grand rush on their opponents goal and Gow forced Lindsay to punt out. Gradually Renton bore down, and for the greater part of the second half had decidedly the best of it; but it was only fifteen minutes from the close when the home team succeeded in equalising the game – McColl doing the needful. The game thus ended in a draw, one goal each.
