Match Trivia
These leading clubs met at Cathkin Park. Owing to the International trial match-taking place in a neighbouring ground, there was only a limited attendance. Shortly after the start Cameron of the Rangers, unfortunately headed the ball through his own goal. After the kick off the ‘light blues’ made a determined attack on the Third’s goal and out of a scrimmage McKenzie kicked a goal for the Rangers thus equalising matters. No further scoring took place in the first half. In the second period the Rangers added other two goals to their score and the Volunteers one. A hard but pleasant match thus ending a victory for the Rangers by three goals to two. Marshall of the Third in the second period, got a bad kick and was therefore of little account.
