Match Trivia

At Ibrox Park last night these teams met in the Inter-City League. Neither side were at full strength several juniors being tried. The attendance did not exceed 1000. The first half was distinctly in favour of the Rangers, who however were woefully slack in front of goal, and for some time the Light Blues, could not score. Just before the interval Collins through a miskick by Kelso managed to steer the ball past Pettigrew. Halftime – Rangers 1: Third Lanark 0. In the second half the Cathkin brigade tried to equalise but their marksmanship was at fault and consequently the home defence was seldom severally tested. At the other end Collins was again fortunate in increasing the score of the home team, and shortly afterwards a third came from the foot of Mackie. Third Lanark took a turn at pressing with satisfactory result, Wardrop beating Dickie. Towards the close Collins again scored for the Rangers. Result - Rangers 4 goals: 3rd Lanark 1
