Played at Ibrox Park before about 6000 spectators. In the early stages of the game the Morton forced the pace, and had a lot the best of the lay, missing one or two good chances, but after the first few minutes the Rangers took the game in hand, and Wilkie opened the scoring. Keeping up an almost constant attack they again found an opening, McPherson getting through from a pass by Graham. Halftime result – Rangers 2: Morton 0. On resuming the Rangers came away with a rush, and some brilliant forward work was shown, and in a short time they had added other two goals. The home team were playing with great confidence in the main, but near goal there was a great falling off, and numerous chances were thrown away. In the closing stages the Morton played with great dash, and scored twice, both goals being the result of mistakes by the Rangers defence. Result – Rangers 4: Morton 2.
