Match Trivia

Played on the ground of the former. The fact that the Havelock had made such a creditable appearance against the 3rd L.R.V. on the previous Saturday drew together a large number of enthusiastic spectators expecting to witness a tough contest, but the result proved otherwise. The game ending in a decided victory for the Rangers by eight goals to nothing. The team which is the one fixed to meet Vale of Leven on Saturday first in the final struggle for the Association silver cup, played in splendid form. The back play of the Havelock was admirable, the captain (Barnett) played well during the first half of the game, but all through the play of McLary and McNiven was often very effectual in preventing the downfall of their goal, McLary being especially conspicuous. Of the forwards Kaye was the best man and was well backed up by Primrose, Smith in the centre dribbled well, but was rather selfish. Their goalkeeper was too cool when pressed, but several times he saved his fortress well. The game was a most agreeable one
