A match was played on Ibrox Park last night between the Rangers and a team drawn from Linthouse, Whitefield, Fairfield and Summerton Athletic. The Light Blues were minus several of their crack players. The Govan combination kicked off half an hour late, and play for a time was pretty evenly balanced. Then the Rangers put on a spurt, and scored 3 in succession. A fine passing run by the Govanites ended in a well-earned goal. Half-time – Rangers 3; Govan 1. In the second half two more goals were scored, and the game ended in favour of the home team by 4 to 2
