This match was played at Ibrox Park, and resulted in a win for the former by four goals to nil. The game was started by the Rangers. The ball was immediately followed by the Thistle, and a run was made towards the Rangers goal line, where D Gow saved. Some scrimmaging in front of the Rangers goal was nearly successful for the strangers. This however did not go on long, one of the backs relieving the pressure. The ball was promptly followed, and in about five minutes from the start Wilson scored the first goal for the Rangers. On the ball being kicked off the Rangers pressed, but owing to the wind were not able to score. Some even play ensured, but after a lapse of about five minutes the Thistle managed to obtain accession to the territory of their opponents where, however they were not able to score. Shortly after this the Thistle again prevailed, and obtained a corner, which however proved unsuccessful. Johnstone afterwards secured the ball and made a fine run, but did not get sufficiently near to score. Another corner was obtained by the visitors, which however was fruitless. The home team pressed, and about five minutes from halftime Johnstone kicked a second goal for the Rangers. When the players crossed over the home team were leading by two goals to none. The game was now of a decidedly exciting character, and several times Adams was all but beaten. However after some scrimmaging another goal was scored for the Rangers by McKenzie. No further scoring took place during this half, although both teams did their utmost, and some fine runs were made by the home forwards.
