At Ibrox Park, Govan before a fair turnout, the Rangers started the game against a slight breeze. The game for the first few minutes was evenly contested, but gradually the Rangers drew ahead, and after a neat piece of passing among the forwards, McPherson scored the first goal. Five minutes later the same player form a pass by Hislop scored a second goal. The third goal was taken by Donald Gow, who scored with a long shot. The Carrington were completely hemmed in, and before halftime the Rangers added other two points, Hislop and Kerr having one each. At halftime the score was Rangers 5 goals: Carrington 0. After a short interval the game was resumed. The Carrington played u much better. Eight minutes after the resumption of play McLaren scored for them. The Rangers again took up the running, and from a scrimmage they obtained their sixth goal. A seventh and an eighth followed, Hislop and Kerr respectively doing the needful. The rain now began to fall, and Reid very foolishly left his charge for a few minutes. While he was away the Carrington had a good run, and no one being between the uprights McMillan essayed a long shot, which had the desired effect, thus making the second point for the visitors. Their success was short lived. The Rangers again pressed, and ere time sounded they scored other four goals. Allan (two), Marshall, and McPherson putting the finishing touch on. Final result – Rangers 12 goals: Carrington 2 goals
