Played at Ibrox Park. The home team losing the toss kicked off, but their progress was stopped by the Cambuslang half. The strangers were not showing any great form, the play at the start being mostly in their own territory. The home team, keeping up the pressure, after a pretty hard attack, scored their first goal, Wyllie doing the needful. The Cambuslang after this reserve warmed up a little, and looked like scoring on various occasions; but the Rangers backs proved too strong on for them, Donald Gow playing a really splendid game. The home team, getting hold of the ball worked it down field, where a clever goal was scored by W Peacock. After this, play became more even, the Cambuslang men showing up to more advantage. The Rangers keeping up their good form scored a third goal, White heading the ball through. The Cambuslang after this began to settle down, and up till the end of the first half were at their opponent’s goal, but were unable to score. Result at halftime – Rangers 3 goals, Cambuslang 0 goals. On the game being resumed, the Cambuslang did the pressing, affine run bringing them in front of the home uprights, where a scrimmage ensured, the ball finally put through, thus scoring their first goal. After this success they began to shoe renewed form, and have the home backs lots of work. The result was – Rangers 4 goals, Cambuslang 1 goal.
