The football team connected with the Highland Light Infantry, at present quartered in Edinburgh Castle, have an important Army Cup tie to play on Friday, and yesterday, through the instrumentality of Lieutenant Halswell, the Rangers gave them a practice game on Ibrox Park. The Ibrox directorate put a strong team in the field, with the result that the soldiers were stretched to the utmost. All through the first half play was fast, and although the Light Blues had the best of the exchanges they only found the net twice, McColl and Kyle scoring. In endeavouring to stop the centre forward in one his characteristic bursts, Neil the centre half on the H.L.I. had the misfortune to wrench his knee, and had to retire, his place being taken during the remainder of the game by Lieutenant Pringle. In the second half the Rangers scored thrice, McColl adding two and Galt having the third; while McDonald, for the visitors, had the distinction of beating Sinclair
