A match between the representatives of the Rangers and the Partick Thistle came off on the ground of the latter at Muirpark Partick and resulted in an easy victory for the Thistle. At an early stage in the game Johnston of the Thistle secured a goal, while in a few minutes afterwards Gossland of the Rangers headed the ball through the posts and secured a goal for his team. During the remainder of the first period of the game the ball travelled rapidly from one end of the field to the other, but neither side were able to score. In the second half the Rangers added a second goal to their record but the Thistle playing with great dash and determination scored four additional goals and the match ended in their favour by five goals to two. It may be mentioned however that the Rangers had a somewhat weak team, while early in the game one of their backs had to retire and they subsequently played one man short.
