Match Trivia
This match came off at Inchview, Whiteinch, before a large concourse of spectators, and ended in favour of the Partick Thistle by two goals to none. The Thistle kicked off and after some open play Paul scored for his side. Ferguson had a splendid run on the left, which Gow tackled successfully, and the ball travelled to the opposite side. A run was next made by J Gow, but the ball was punted out by McCorkindale. A corner flag kick soon fell to the home team at the Rangers end. They afterward had a corner flag kick, the ball being placed behind. The Rangers got a free kick for a foul, but did not avail themselves on the opportunity to score. Paul then rushed off with the ball, and all but succeeded in scoring. The Rangers afterwards played a little better, but did not succeed in scoring. Halftime was declared just as Bennett, on the right, was making a dash for the Rangers goal. In the second half the Rangers made an assault in the Thistle goal, but it was short lived. McCorkindale making off with the ball in safety. The Thistle had then some dangerous shies at the Rangers goal. No further scoring took place, and the game ended as indicated above
