Match Trivia
The return game between the above clubs was played at Kilmarnock on Saturday; there were fully 300 spectators present. Kilmarnock kicked off, and their left wing led the opening attack, but were repulsed. Following this the Rangers forwards had a series of concerted runs in which they displayed lovely football, but their shooting was always wide of the mark. After a spell of aggressive work by the Rangers the homesters settled down, and the play of the front rank was in advance of anything given by them on Rugby ark this season. They experienced great difficulty in piercing the Rangers stalwart defence, and when halftime arrived there had been no scoring by either side. Early in the second half Craig was brought to his knees when saving a rocket of Alex Smith. It was a splendid game all through the second half. The Rangers forwards had a number of dashing runs on Craig’s citadel, but the home custodian was never beaten, and during this half he had one or two truly brilliant saves. Play for the most part however was in Rangers portion of the field, and although Kilmarnock had a number of good tries for goal there was never the same exciting scrimmages round Dickie’s citadel, as there was round Craig’s. Neither team scored and one of the best games played at Rugby Park this season ended in a goalless draw
