A friendly game was played at Kilmarnock on Saturday between the above teams. Play all through was fairly even, but the game was slow. In the first half Sharp scored for Rangers after half an hour’s play, and Wyllie netted the ball for the homesters but offside was given. Shortly after resuming Hamilton notched a second for the visitors, which was followed by one for Kilmarnock from Wyllie, after this the game became interesting both elevens playing with more zeal. Near the close Maitland best the Rangers custodian with a smart shot, but it was nullified for offside. Result – Rangers 2; Kilnarnock 1. Both sides were trying one or two new men.
