Match Trivia

The Rangers were highly amused on their arrival at the outlying village, to see the preparations being made for them. The field was a new one, and is anything but a bowling green, and no touchline had been marked off. But the Jordanhill discovered a quick method of remedying this defect, and borrowing a horse and plough from a neighbouring farmer, turned up a furrow and formed the necessary parallelogram with it. The furrow however, was very dangerous, some of the Rangers getting nasty wrenches. Watson, Pringle and Ramsay were the best of the forwards, though Corbett put in a lot of useful work. Both Duncan and Young made a good show, while the halfbacks held the opposing forwards well in check.
