Rangers visit to Kelvinside on Wednesday drew a big crowd, which would have been even larger but for the extraordinary pilgrimage to the city – to view the decorations in honour of the King. As it was, the tidy sum of £30 was drawn. This will go a long way to put the Shire in a safe position financially. Of late they have not had the best of luck. The juniors gave a wonderfully clever exhinbition of the game, and were fully entitled to the draw they secured. The play of several of the Kelvinside lot was much admired. Gorman, Kerr, and Kennedy excelled in close manipulation of the ball. Houston and McIntyre were strong in defence, but Lawrence was completely surprised by the shot with which Hamilton beat him. Speedie was clever and resourceful in the Rangers goal; Gibson was the best of the half-backs; and among a clever lot of forwards McDonald, the old ‘Shire favourite, and McMurray were always prominent
