Match Trivia

The Glasgow Exhibition Cup match for the benefit of the sufferers at Ibrox Park took place yester day at Goodison Park Liverpool before 8000 or 9000 spectators. The Rangers won the toss, Everton from the outset pressed hard. The visitors defence had several narrow escapes, Dickie brought off a magnificent save from Young. The visitors ten took up the running, but were soon repulsed, and play again settled down in the Rangers half. Half-time no score. On a resumption of hostilities Everton took up the attack. Pretty play by the visitor’s forwards was then witnessed. The home custodian was tested by Miller, after which Everton attacked. The Rangers goal was hotly besieged, but a grand defence was set up by Drummond and Smith, and eventually the invaders were driven out. Hamilton defeated Kitchen with a fine shot two minutes from the finish, Everton made efforts to equalise, when Young scored. Extra time was played, but without result, which was :- A draw, a goal each
