Match Trivia
At Shawfield Park, the ground of the Clyde. The opening stages of the game were most exciting. First the Clyde forced a corner, which was not converted, and Spiers from a pass by Smith scored the Rangers first goal within a minute from the start. McCartney after a nice run placed the teams on an equal footing, but Kyle just on the call of halftime gave the Rangers the lead. The score at the interval was – Rangers 2: Clyde 1. The second half was well contested, but the Rangers proved themselves the superior team, Smith slipped round the Clyde’s defence and scored twice in rapid succession. Dickie from a mistake on the part of Mason added number five. The game ended – Rangers 5: Clyde 1. The gate-money was a record for Shawfield Park, the total drawings amounted to £417 12s
