Match Trivia
Played at Shawfield before about 4000 spectators, and in miserable weather. In the first half play was of a very even character, the Clyde playing a strong bustling game, but after ten minutes play A Smith opened the scoring for the Rangers. The Clyde were playing the long passing go-ahead game, while their opponents continued themselves to a close passing style, which came off, Miller scoring a second point. Halftime – Rangers 2: Clyde 0. In the second half, Campbell of the Rangers, who had been injured towards the close of the first half, came out again, but he was of little use to his side. Despite this they pressed very hard, and seldom let the Clyde beyond midfield. A penalty for holding McPherson was given the Rangers, and after an abortive attempt Neil scored. Right on to the end the game was well contested, and both goals under went narrow escapes, but the Rangers managed to keep their goal intact, and retired victors, and unbeaten in the League competition. Result – Rangers 3 goals: Clyde 0.
