Match Trivia

This match was played at Pittodrie in presence of a crowd of about 7000. After the start O’Hagan was consciences, but a good deal of pressure was soon put on the Aberdeen goal. The Rangers were playing a steady game, and showing a good deal of neat work in the forward line. Just on halftime the Aberdeen were beaten and Kyle succeeded in netting the ball, despite a good effort by McFarlane to save. Halftime – Rangers 1 goal: Aberdeen 0. The second half was well through before there was any change of the position of the game, the play being succeeding of a give and take character. Eventually the Aberdeen men seemed to collapse. Within a few minutes of the close Johnston, Smith and Kyle rushed through the home defence, and Kyle scored an easy goal, Smith followed immediately afterwards with another, and the match ended – Rangers 3 goals: Aberdeen 0
