Match Trivia

Played at Ibrox Park, before 8000 spectators. Play in the first half was very fast and interesting, the shooting on both sides being very good, the scoring being opened by May, and Walker added a second from a great shot by McColl, which Monteith only partially saved. The visitors pressed hard, and were staved off for a time by Sinclair, but Maxwell found an opening and scored only to see Speedie add again for the Rangers. Before the interval both teams scored once, the score at halftime being – Rangers 4: Kilmarnock 2. The second half did not provide such good football, the game being much too one-sided, and though the Rangers only added other two goals, they might have scored more frequently, so much were they superior to their opponents. Result – Rangers 6 goals: Kilmarnock 2. Gate money amounted to £177, and at the stands £19
