Match Trivia

This friendly match was played at Tynecastle. For some time the play was pretty equal, and not of a very brilliant nature. The first point, which the Rangers gained, was the result of a slip on the part of Mirk, who gave Boyd an opening. The second goal was from a free kick. No more scoring took place in the first half. In the second period Michael was absent owing to a hurt, but the Hearts went manfully to work. Several times they experienced hard lines, the ball just grazing the Rangers posts. Ultimately Scott landed the first point for the Hearts, and no more scoring taking place the game ended in favour of the Rangers by 2 goals to 1.
