Match Trivia
Played at Ibrox. Unfortunately the frost got a complete hold of the ground, and before the teams took the field the referee decided that no League match could be played. It was therefore decided to lay a friendly only. The Rangers kicked off aginst the wind and with a strong sun in their eyes. They at once made tracks for Patrick, and the right wing had a chance to score, but the ball was sent behind. A clever run by H McCreadie finished up by Crawford conceding a corner, but the chance was lost by the ball being placed behind. Two minutes later a corner at the other end had a different result. The ball was well placed by Brash and Bell scored the first goal for St Mirren. Halftime result – St Mirren 1 goal: Rangers 0. Without leaving the field the players crossed over and resumed the game. The Saints were first to attack, and Brash had a chance, but his shot was weak, and nothing came of it. The Rangers took up the game from the goal kick, and Patrick had an anxious time of it. Play was most exciting. The Rangers strove hard to equalise, while the Saints played hard to prevent them. Play continued in favour of the Saints, who scored other two goals, and won by 3 to 0.
