Match Trivia

Fully 7000 spectators were at Ibrox Park the playing pitch of which was in fine order for a fast game. With the wind in their favour, the Rangers quickly set up a brisk attack, but their shooting was generally off the mark. Rennie was once beaten by a hard drive by Kyle but the ball struck the near upright and rebounded into play. Dalrymple was injured and had to retire to the pavilion for a time. Nixon had a good chance of testing Sinclair, but instead he shot past. Near halftime Hamilton all but beat Rennie and Callaghan almost got the better of Sinclair with a hard drive close in. Halftime – a draw, no scoring. The Hibs attacked strongly on resuming and with a little care at goal would have scored. A mistake by Sinclair later on was taken advantage of by Callaghan, who registered the first goal. The Rangers now attacked most persistently, and Spiers passing the ball to Dalrymple, who latter tipped it to Hamilton, who promptly equalised. To the end the home team did most of the attacking, Smith and Kyle being especially prominent, but failed to add to their score. Result – A draw 1 goal each. Drawings £200
