Match Trivia

Fully 9000 spectators witnessed the first League game of the season between these clubs at Ibrox Park. The Rangers disappointed with their display against the Third the previous week, turned out an entirely rearranged team, while the Hearts relied on the same lot as beat Motherwell last week. The game however proved a runaway affair for the Rangers, who notwithstanding that they has Hartley crippled early in the first half held the upper hand all through. The Rangers scored no fewer than four times before the interval, Hamilton being in great form, and baring three to his credit, while Walker scored the fourth. The second portion proved more even, each side scoring one J Walker for the Rangers and R Walker for the Hearts. Hamilton, Mackie, Walker, Henderson, Stark and Robertson were best for the winners, while R Walker, Hogg and Orr were the pick of the losers. Total drawings £232
