Match Trivia

This match was played at Ibrox Park on Saturday before fully 14,000 spectators. In the first half the Rangers played beautiful football, their forwards and half’s working in delightful harmony. For half an hour, however the Queen’s defence, who hardly got a breathing space withstood all attacks, but latterly Hamilton scored, and before the interval other three goals were added. Hamilton, Robertson from a penalty kick, and Walker being the scorers, the Rangers thus crossing over leading by 4 goals to 0. The second half was more even but there was no sting in the Queen’s attack, and Mackie scoring again for the Rangers the home team won by 5 goals to 0. On their form of Saturday the Rangers are ahead of any team in Scotland, their front line in particular being superb. The Queen’s defence was excellent, but their forwards lacked a proper leader and had no method. Gate and stand realised £366
