Played at Meadowside before about 7000 spectators. Rangers had the advantage of a strong wind in the first half, but at the outset the home team pressed, and but for weak shooting should have led early. Rangers settled down, and Walker scored. With the score even and the benefit of the wind the Thistle put their utmost effort forth to get in the lead, but the fast pace of the first half told its tale, and the Rangers lasting better than their opponents asserted their superiority in the closing stages, A Smith scoring a couple of good goals.
