Match Trivia

At Ibrox Park, before about 10,000 spectators. The Queen’s open strongly, but Latterly the Rangers had the better of the exchanges, and Speedie capped a good piece of work with a cleverly taken goal. The Queen’s replied strongly, and both Jones and Currie scored, but both points were disallowed on the plea of offside. Towards the interval, however Jones equalised. Halftime – 1 goal each. On resuming the Rangers early asserted themselves, and Robertson added a second goal from a corner, well placed by Smith. The Light Blues did not keep the lead long, however as some fine work by the Queen’s left pair brought about the equaliser. A couple of minutes later, however Neil again gave his side the lead. Play was evenly contested until the close. Result – Rangers 3 goals: Queen’s Park 2 goals. Gate £206 8s; stands £35 3s; total £241 11s
