Match Trivia

These clubs met in the above competitions at Easter Road on Saturday, and an exciting game ended in a well deserved win for the Rangers by a goal to nil. The Hibs pressed throughout the first half, but their shooting was very faulty, and after a slip away by the Rangers right wing the only goal of the match was scored by Wilson, who was making his first appearance in the senior ranks. Despite the efforts to equalise, they were baffled in all their attempts to equalise, and at halftime the score was unaltered, viz- Rangers 1 goal: Hibs 0. The second half was notable only for the great efforts the Hibs made to equalise, but the defence of Smith and Crawford was of the soundest description, and in the end the Rangers kept their lead. The second defeat of the Hibs can only be put down to the poor form of their forwards, especially in regard to their shooting, which was quite commonplace compared with that in the Queen’s Park match. Result – Rangers 1 goal: Hibernian 0.
