Match Trivia
Played at Ibrox before 3000 spectators. Dundee kicked off, but they made little progress, and in the first minute Stewart was called on to save. The Rangers had easily the whip hand of their opponents, and for a time they were never away from Dundee’s goal, but their shooting was exorable. After about 20 minutes play A Smith scored, and from this to the end of the first half were seldom away from goal, the occasional runs of the Dundee forwards being easily checkmated. Hamilton scored twice and McPherson once. Halftime result – Rangers 4: Dundee 0. The pace set in the first half had been too much for the untrained Dundee lot, and they were never more really dangerous in the second half, being seldom across midfield, and the Rangers contented themselves with needling other three goals, the exhibition in the closing stages being very one-sided, and showing the new Dundee combination in a very poor light. Result – Rangers 7: Dundee 0.
