At Alexandria in presence of about 2000 spectators, the Vale scored in three minutes. McPherson scored another goal after a half hour of fast play, which was decidedly in favour of the home team. After several determined attacks, during which the Vale had five corner kicks, the Rangers goal fell for the third time from an angular shot Kennedy five minutes before the call of half time. In the second half the Rangers scored a goal at the commencement and for the rest of the game played up in fine style, but no further scoring took place, the Vale winning by three goals to one.
