The plat was not particularly brilliant, but it was up to the average standard. The Rangers had the best of it, as was proved by the corner’s that came to them, but they were weak in front of goal. Peddie and Blair eventually made some progress for the Third, and getting a corner Blair centred well, but the ball was ultimately headed past. At halftime the Rangers led by 1 goal to 0. On restarting McPherson tried a long shot, but the ball went past the post. McAllan threw away a corner to the Third, but Blair placed the ball badly, and no advantage was gained.
