Match Trivia
Rangers easily entered the final of the Glasgow Charity Cup competition by defeating Third Lanark by three clear goals at Cathkin last night. The winners played delightful football for most of the first half. Their shooting was of a high standard, but their only reward was a few corners. Against the wind after the interval the Ibrox team had not so much of the play, but nevertheless they scored three goals. Reid notched the first one, and Cairns followed suit. The third goal was a real funny affair. Cairns ran half the length of the field, stalled off Lennon and Hannah, and finished with a soft shot close to an upright. Brownlie deliberately lifted his foot over the ball thinking it was going past, but to his consternation it rolled slowly into the net. Rangers’ best were Muir, Cairns and Paterson, and Third Lanark’s most prominent players were Gibb, Hannah, Scoular and Neil. All in the drawings were £171.
