Match Trivia

At Love Street Grounds Paisley, before about 2000 spectators. The Rangers won the toss, and opened in promising style, but Hamilton and Robertson failed to take advantage of grand openings Thereafter the Saints asserted themselves, Anderson scoring after 12 minutes play. Until the interval the Saints held the upper hand, and crossed over leading by 2 goals to 0. On resuming the Saints early took the game in hand, Robertson registering a third point, while Swan added a fourth beating Dickie close in. Towards the close the play opened out, but the home defenders rarely allowed the opposing forwards to settle in front of goal. Result – St Mirren 4 goals: Rangers 0 goals
