Match Trivia
The Rangers appeared at Paisley last night in a game the proceeds of which are to be handed over to the mother of the Alex Wylie, the once popular outside left of the St Mirren. There was a large turnout of spectators. Rangers did not seem to be quite at home in the first portion of the game, and the St Mirren playing a dashing game quickly registered two goals from Fraser and Hamilton. Then the Ibrox team settled down to combined play and through the aid of McDougall and McNab, were soon on level terms with their opponents. Hamilton again scored, and the result at half-time stood St Mirren 3; Rangers 2. The second half was very evenly contested although the Rangers were playing with only ten men, one of the players having been injured in the closing portion of the first half. A run away by the St Mirren forwards however led to Lindsay beating Dickie with a slanting shot from the wing. The Rangers then had a look in, and Wilkie with a well-judged shot, put on their third goal.
