These teams met in a League fixture at Paisley last night. There was a very good attendance over 4000 being present. Neither club was fully represented. At the outset the Rangers went off at a great pace. They completely outplayed the home men, and soon had two goals to their credit, one taken by Campbell, and the other by Kyle. Following these reverses the St Mirren rallied and greatly improved in play, though they could not get the better of the visitors defence. The score at halftime was – Rangers 2: St Mirren 0. The second half was the best-contested portion of the game. Play ruled evenly, each goal being in turn attacked. There was however, no further scoring, and the Rangers ran out the winners by 2 to 0.
