Match Trivia

Played at Love Street Grounds, Paisley on Saturday in presence of a large crowd of spectators. Play in the first half was all in favour of the St Mirren who within three minutes had scored the first goal of the game, Hall taking up a capital pass from Lindsay and converting it into a goal. A second point for the home team followed a little afterwards in something the same manner, Hall tipping in a drive from Greenlees. The Rangers had several good chances, but were very unfortunate at goal. The play for the remainder of the first half was fast, but no further scoring took place. Halftime – St Mirren 2 goals: Rangers 0. In the second portion Rangers played with ten men Hamilton having to retire through an injury at the close of the first portion. The St Mirren took up the running early, and with fifteen minutes gone they succeeded in scoring the third and last goal of the game, the point resulting from a foul against A Smith, and being scored by Jackson. Result – St Mirren 3 goals: Rangers 0. Gate £231; stands £27 – total £258
