Match Trivia
The game at Love Street yesterday was arranged by Mr WR Cook, of St Mirren, for the behalf of the Paisley Red Cross War Fund. The game was entirely in favour of Renfrewshire. Their forwards opened well, and Lock, Manderson and Blair stood up well for Thirty minutes. Gradually Rangers reached Richardson, who saved many fine shots from Archibald, Miller and McDiarmid. The first goal fell to Rangers, being well taken by Durward. Renfrewshire immediately settled matters with their opponents. Within eight minutes Lister rattled on three goals of his own. McNab and Pringle were mainly responsible for his first two goals, which Thomson had a share in the third goal. The second half was not long on progress when Bowie unfortunately put the ball through his own goal. Thereafter it was the Rangers defence against a brilliant forward line. Miller scored for Renfrewshire just on the call of time. Wright, Lister, Pringle and Maxwell were the outstanding men for Renfrewshire, while Rangers were well served by Lock, Bowie, Miller and McDiarmid. The drawing amounted to £108 13s 4d, including tax.
