Match Trivia
Last night on Ibrox Park, Rangers engaged West Norwood (London). The visitors kicked off against the wind, and Fitchie and Smith took play to Brebner’s goal, where the Rangers man saved a stinger. A corner followed for the Rangers, but it was sent past by the wind. A clever piece of work by Thomson at outside right for Rangers resulted in a corner, following which Cooke saved thrice in succession, the ball latterly being sent over the bar. The visitors should have scored with Brebner lying on the ground, but they made a mess of it, and Speedie cleared. Off a penalty McColl beat Cooke after thirty-five minutes. Five minutes after the restart McColl scored a second for the Rangers with a well judged shot. Whiteley got an injured ankle and had to retire, another player being allowed to take his place. McColl had a third goal, Cooke having no chance with the shot that beat him. White had a splendid run finishing with a pass across but his club mates missed an open goal, the ball being sent high over. The game which was one of two ‘40’ ended in a win for the Rangers by 3 goals to 0
