These teams met at Ibrox Park and engaged in a friendly encounter. Losing the toss, the home team set the ball in motion against the wind, and play was at once carried into close proximity to the Uddingston goal, Dolan being called upon to save his charge, which he did very cleverly. Uddingston now retaliated, and Wilkie centring to Elliot, the latter scored the first goal from a high and well-judged shot. This reverse put the Rangers upon their metal, and a determined run was made into the Uddingston territory. This however was repulsed by the excellent back play of Downs, and a smart run up the field placed the home goal again in jeopardy. As halftime approached, the town players tried hard to equalise, but the visitors managed to keep the play pretty much around the Rangers charge, and at halftime the score was – Uddingston 1 goal, Rangers 0 goals. On changing ends the home team at once assumed the aggressive, and running up with the wind at their back, Wyllie scored by a really smart shot. Soon afterwards Wilkie scored the second goal for the country team. The Rangers players with great determination and again equalised out of a scrimmage. As time drew near, both teams strove had to notch the winning point, the eagerness to score detracting from the play. Neither however could accomplish it, and the gamed ended in a draw – 2 goals each
