Match Trivia

At Ibrox Park, Govan estimated attendance 24,000 drawings (gate and stands) £595. At the opening the lay went somewhat in favour of the Rangers who were smarter forward, although they lacked power at goal. Rennie however had to save from Cross and Hosie, but latterly a smart run on the Rangers left wing was followed by J Smith scoring. Fifteen minutes later Johnstone capped a nice run by Hosie, but before halftime Livingstone put Rangers ahead, and but for Brownlie the leaders would have scored again. Third Lanark at the start of the second half were almost entirely on the defensive, but their backs and half-backs were very safe, and Brownlie kept a fine goal. In the main the Rangers attack was confines to their left wing and centre, the right wing being little assistance. The home side could not score, despite having the better of the game, while Third Lanark lasting the pace magnificently drew the game through, Richardson in the closing minutes, Rennie failing to stop a soft effort
