Match Trivia

Played at Ibrox Park, Govan before 3000 spectators. The Rangers won the toss, and played with the wind in their backs. Beveridge set the ball in motion. For a time play was slow, but a run by Low gave the Rangers a chance. Gardner however conceded a corner, which came to nothing. A look in by the Third Lanark from a run by Gibson was checked by Drummond putting the ball into touch. Again the Rangers pressing with a neat shot Tinto scored their first goal. Halftime – Rangers 1 goal: 3d Lanark 0 goals. On resuming the Rangers had a look in for a few minutes, but Low shot against Blair. Play was tame, and uninteresting. The Third pulled themselves together, and led on by Simpson, they made tracks for Dickie and Wilson with a long shot scored their first goal. With the game equal, both teams went at it with a will to get on the leading point. The Third were having the best of it but Drummond, Glen and Crawford were playing them grandly. Result – Rangers 1 goal: 3d Lanark 1 goal.
