Match Trivia

This tie was played at Ibrox Park, Glasgow before 4000 spectators. In the first half play was very evenly divided the Rangers perhaps being slightly clever. Rae twice saved from Smith and Paton missed one grand chance while towards the close of the first portion Lindsay gave Dickie two very nasty shots to deal with. At the interval neither side had scored. The second half was almost entirely in favour of the St Mirren, the Rangers being very seldom dangerous. Robertson scored the only goal of the match with a quick shot, after Dickie had saved repeatedly, and the Saints won by 1 goal to 0. For the winners the best players were McAvoy, Bruce, Lindsay and Wilson, while Fraser, Dickie and Stark did well for Rangers. Gate and stands £113
