Played on Ibrox Park, before about 10,000 spectators. The visitors had the advantage of the wind in the first half, but their opponents rather more than held their own, and Foulke was frequently tested, but there was no beating him, although some splendid shooting was witnessed. Play was very fast and interesting, but at the interval there was no scoring. In the second half Rangers worked very hard to score, but their shooting was not so deadly as in the opening period, and Foulke had little difficulty in staving them off. After a long period of defensive work the United broke away and through a mistake by N Smith, Bennett got a chance, which he converted.
